I’m definitely no expert but I think the ‘nuclear option’ allows a simple majority to change senate rules. Reid used it once for Obama appointments and Mitch used it to end debate on the Garland confirmation a few years later I think.

Manchin will be offered a package of goodies for West Virginia in the budget reconciliation Bill that will end the filibuster that it will be politically impossible for him to vote against it.
Senator Sinema will also be offered the same kind of package for Arizona to force her vote too.

Yes, good point. Con ention of states weilds tremendous power if we do it right. Not 3ven the federal pgovernmenet will be able to withstand the will of several states acting in unity and concert. Problem is, too many states cave when the gov threatens to cut off federal funding

The only indy that I know of is Bernie Sanders, who is a reliable vote for the democrats.
