When I was young I had many earaches, I was constantly shipped from dentists to doctors to ear, eye, nose and throat specialist.

Finally one of the specialists decided he was going to physically clear my sinuses. I am all for it, anything to get off this merry go round. By this time I was at least fourteen.

So he then straps me in to a dentists chair, two each on forearms and shins, then tells me this would hurt more than anything I had ever known.

He drops a pan on to my hands and says hold this will you, with a smirk, knowing I could not move.(This alone now warns me he is a sadistic bastard.)

So he pulls out a stainless steel pin that is at least five inches long and maybe one and a half millimeters in diameter and tells me he is going to shove it through the bone of my nose in to my upper sinuses.

Now he takes the pin pushes aside the cartilage in my nose and then seats against the bone with a firm tap, my eyes light up and I am shaking all over.

Bang he slaps it with a full swing and I feel it go through the bone, and I am unable to scream.

Then whack job doc says Oh, that is not the part that hurts. He now unscrews the handle and puts a sleeve over the pin, then when he slams this I can hear and feel the bone stretch or expand.

There our no words for what I felt. now he unscrews the handle and pulls out the pin and connects the sleeve to an air compressor.

I literally was clenching every muscle in my body and thought that I would break every bone in my body.

This wacko sits there and watches nothing come out for ten or fifteen minutes, and is stunned and says he has never seen like it, your sinuses must be packed as solid as bone.

Then he gets up and walks away, leaving me still under pressure for at least another twenty minutes or more. while he discusses what could be done next with my parents.

I'll bet I sweated out at least fifteen pounds. Suffice it to say I do not trust most doctors. And stopped seeing them for common ailments.

Well, his argument could possibly make sense if you were the active source of the infection, not a victim of it. His water pollution analogy falls apart: one is polluting the water through one's direct, intentional actions, whereas you maybe being a carrier does not involve any direct, intentional actions on your part.

But, there's already laws against knowingly infecting someone with any disease on purpose anyway...
