They’re really milking this fake threat thing.
100%. I can’t quite explain it but I think in part they know its fake but there’s another part where they believe it too. There’s a great quote somewhere that says people start to believe that which is in their interest to believe. It’s like at some point the sham-wow guy starts to think that cloth really *is* special.

Anything is worth it to protect our Representatives and Senators! After all they are the voice and face of our Democracy!! The idea that some of them felt threatened and traumatized during the violent attack on the Capitol just makes me feel sick at heart. They must be protected at all costs!! /s
