NR died years ago. Lowry and Goldberg betrayed Buckley’s legacy.
I was particularly struck by that line. Those millions for who Rush was a turnoff simply had the option of turning him off. And unlike NPR their taxes weren't going to support him, nor was his show bundled in their basic cable package ala CNN and MSNBC.
He has a vivid memory of something that never happened.

NR- Never Right. I call that magazine a home for bourgeois CONservatives like George Will. They consider the tens of millions of us middle class conservatives to be a bunch of rubes and hayseeds beneath them. They’re blue bloods and we’re blue collar, and they hate that we exist. Today we lead the conservative movement and they are, and always have been, a bunch of snob cowards who decided to join the left in the Deep State rather than combat them. They are nothing!
NR has been a leftist propaganda organ aimed at the right for years.
Their “Against Trump” cover was confirmation that they are really “Against America”.
