God can use broken people. He turns evil intent into good result, whether it’s Pharaoh or a corrupt preacher.
Makes Louis C K look like a piker.
I also am suspicious when stuff comes out years after someone died and can no longer defend themselves.
And your point is well taken.
How was it possible for this to be such a secret for so long?
Usually if there’s impropriety happening, it comes out while it’s happening, or at least there’s rumors of it. In this case, there was virtually nothing until after he died.
The report is from a liberal law firm that they switched to from a pro-Ravi firm. RZIM is like the Establishment Republicans, probably worse.
God has a Top Ten list and one of the items is clearly related to sexual activity.
So many fall short and have fallen short of the standard from King David to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to others from Jim Bakker to Bill Hybels and the list could go on and on.
The God Of My Understanding has the rules and breaking them hurts me and others.
The ways one breaks this “rule” “commandment” are many and varied right down to behavior we sense Joe Biden has engaged in.
Can’t do much about Joe but the times when I have stared at women and made them feel uncomfortable because they sense when you’re staring at them are times I regret. I know I was wrong and I even wrote it down to acknowledge it to people I trust.
I honestly feel I would have to acknowledge my wrong to the women involved if I crossed their path again.
Well said. Excellent point. I’ve seen so many congregations die because they were centric to a flawed leader not the Word of God.
I used to listen to Ravi during my long commute time. He was definitely a student of rhetoric and argumentation. I sometimes came away from his radio show with the thought that his ability with logic sometimes undermined simple faith in that if you could not follow his logic, were you left with a feeling that you were not worthy? Don’t get me wrong....I appreciated his skills a lot and I found his points quite compelling. But the simple ‘faith like a child’ promise was kind of ignored.
Everyone is a sinner. We all have to deal with that fact. If you don’t...that’s a problem. Repentance is really important. I hope Ravi was able to do that.
Definitely off topic, but I have issue with a man's name coming before the word "Bible" on their version or notes in that Bible. I'm not going to mention any examples, and these men are or have been good preachers/teachers, but letting one's name lead in naming their "study Bible" doesn't sit right with me. If they want to have Bible with so and so's notes, that's fine. But this is just a sticking point for me, I can't speak for any one else's conscience.
I get it, and you have a good point.
King David was a adulterer, rapist, and murderer. Do we discount what he did?
Noah was a drunk, at best, and much worse really. Do we throw away his contributions to God’s Kingdom.
Saul was a taxman, and hunter and murderer of Jews. Look what he became after being struck blind on the road to Damascus!
There has only been ONE man who lived a sinless life - ALL mankind as sinned. Will continue to sin.
God can, has, and will use anyone, no matter their lot in life, no matter the deeds, and increase His Kingdome.
John 8:7
Shall we dig up his body and post it for all to cast aspersions on?
Oh spare me the sanctimonious crap from those who have nothing worth listening to.
