True most of the time. But for enemy coming down the road, where you can see them from the hill you’re camped out on...

In Afghanistan, our troops were being sniped at from distant hills.

If this weapon is dependent upon the enemy doing something stupid like that, it’s probably not needed.
BTW, I have no issue with the 338 as a sniper round. I don’t think a MG is necessary to perform that mission.
The round is too big and too heavy.
