Yea indeed!
I’ve just been through Jonah, Micah and Habakkuk..
How awesome it was for Nineveh to completely turn to God after Jonah went there.
But I see that it only lasted 100-150 years. By then, they turned right back again and God had to judge the nation. And it was destroyed.
What I feel (and I don’t know everything...just my opinion) is that God blessed the USA hugely. He gave us this nation and blessed it and we prospered like no other. Then we got fat and lazy and have been turning our backs on Him for decades.
God does allow evil rulers in order to judge nations. I’m afraid that is what has just happened to us, sadly. Hopefully I’m wrong.
He may turn things for us, but I sincerely doubt it. The USA aren’t His chosen people. I believe He’s taken His hand of protection and blessing off since we’ve spent decades electing folks who want to run Him out.
We do bear one distinction. We are a nation that’s origin came about because people loved God and wanted to worship Him freely. We initially chose to follow Him. Of course, by the late 1600s things were off kilter as every generation makes its own bed and has to lie in it; however, many have sought God’s face during this period, knowing the dire situation our nation is in. God has made it to where only HE can save us. I believe He will honor our prayers one way or the other. I pray it’s to the saving of the nation. America has been in really bad shape before (burning Bibles and doing mock communion in the 1700s for example), and God sent awakening. We deserve judgment. I pray for mercy.
I liked the movies about the end times that Kirk made, anyone else seen them?
“But God does love.”
That may be true. But He doesn’t love us. Loving parents don’t let their children kill each other when they have the means to stop it.

“He asks permission to do his damage, and it is granted with parameters.”
So if someone asks a parent if they can hurt their kids “with parameters” and the parents okay it, what kind of parents are they?
Pretty crappy ones.
L
“This is a small example of our human situation.”
It’s a poor analogy. If two of your kids were trying to kill each other would you say “don’t do that!”? Or would you intervene to stop it?
L
“Who is this fool?”
You’re charming. He’s not a fool. You might want to do some research before spouting off.
“It is basically that human knowledge and experience can’t grasp the answer.”
So in other words God deliberately made us too stupid to understand Him and then He stands by watching us murder each other in job lots without doing anything to stop it.
That’s some mighty strange love right there. If we found parents like that we’d toss them into prison for the rest of their lives.

Like I said, the answer given is hard to accept.
The usual answer is, essentially, free will, but that may just be a restatement of the problem.
But still, it is a valid question, would you trade your freedom for security?
The democrats promise peace, security, and equality if you only give them enough power.
God on the other hand refuses to use His power even to prevent evil because it would eliminate freedom. I don’t know if that is the answer we are too stupid to understand but I do know the half of the population that are democrats definitely don’t grasp it.
I agree
“ But still, it is a valid question, would you trade your freedom for security?”
I won’t. But it’s irrelevant to my point.
“God on the other hand refuses to use His power even to prevent evil because it would eliminate freedom.”
God can do literally anything. If He wanted to He could make it so. He’s God, right?
There’s the flaw in your argument.

We ARE too stupid to understand anyone capable of creating the universe!
Second, this temporary life is merely prep for the eternal one. We are like unborn children trying to judge our parents from our perspective from inside the womb.
“We are like unborn children trying to judge our parents from our perspective from inside the womb.”
Except unborn twins don’t tear each other to pieces in the womb.
Try again.
