They've snookered a good number with those two terms: private, Christian. I know of quite a few private Christian indoctrination centers. Christian means socialist for public life, and private means contemporary psychology for private life.
Obviously you are from Texas. We had the same “Team of 8” BS pushed by TASB, which is really just an arm of the education establishment, and staffed by dedicated public school leftists. I am an attorney and can read the education code. I regularly got in arguments with the TASB legal staff telling us what the policies the district was “required” to adopt.
If you want control of your child’s education, you are much better off keeping your kids in a small private school, and staying involved constantly.
Foolishly, I moved our 4 to public school after elementary so they would have more “resources” and more socialization. I ended up with one hard-core Trump hater, two mildly liberal and one who gets it.

Sure.
But at the same time, don’t put your kids in public school. We are not obligated to participate in the grand pagan socialist experiment.
