Parents same way, dad was given 6 weeks, made 3 months, mom 3 months made 6 months. Dad was WW2 Vet, had xrays every 3 months because of Emphysema. VA failed to find it until to late to treat. Neither were big on doctors. Slow down hill until hearts gave out.
The first time I listened to Rush, it opened my eyes to the lies of the mainstream media. I had believed them: Rush was a raving lunatic, a Nazi gasbag, spouting evil and insulting callers.
So there was no reason to listen to him. Then I accidentally heard him one morning when my local radio station that carried Dodger games started carrying the Rush show, and Rush popped up on my car radio.
And he was playing “Bomb Iraq,” a parody of the Beach Boys’ “Barbara Ann.”
It was funny as hell. And I discovered that the mainstream media portrayal of him was wrong from top to bottom. His show was piercingly funny, and he was punctiliously polite to each and every caller.
I started listening every day and saw that all of the castigation against him in the media came from people who had never actually listened to him. He made me see the truth of how the media are vicious liars.
