I was born and raised in Rochester. My favorite place was Don & Bob’s. Even today I make their hot sauce so I can have it with Zweigle’s Hots, which were served at the original Don & Bob’s. Never went to Nick’s, even when I was living there. I know my nephew’s go there occasionally, and get the garbage plate.
Not that I know of. I am not sure if it’s the same but late night you would stand in a crowd of people and shout your order. Basically you got a dinner and a show. Other places copied the concept but it’s just not the same.
Never went to Nick’s when I lived in Rochester. When I was working on Westfall Road for the county, some of us would go to lunch at Don & Bob’s on Monroe Avenue. That was always my favorite place.
