I know what the writer meant. I am not sure of of the readers have that knowledge going into the article.

My point is that FR is posting every bloggers crap. It’s getting people worked up, when instead, we should be steely eyed and focused.

Treason is an act against the country, witnessed by at least two people during a time of war.

It’s the only crime in the Constitution.

A military Lawyer is in the military.

This makes no sense.. outside of her defense for Flynn as a civilian lawyer.

Treason:

Treason is the only crime defined in the U.S. Constitution. According to Article III, Section 3:

Who knows if the original post is true. BUT, you are clearly wrong about what she may know about treason. You have no way of knowing what evidence she has. She would be an outright moron to spill it outside the courtroom. I don’t believe she is a moron — in fact, she appears to be the exact opposite of a moron!

As for your statement about being at war. War is not necessarily dropping bombs and shooting at each other! We were in a “cold war” with the USSR for over 30 years and we never fired a shot at one another. War today can take many forms (hacking an election, buying off a candidate, sending us hidden spy bugs in their electronics to subvert our society and military, etc.).

Somebody pulled a humdinger of a number on us and I doubt if they did it all alone.

She could well prosecute for treason. I would settle for fraud or sedition. Any of those work for me.

A “State of War” is a very specific action, resulting in very specific international diplomatic conditions.

These are strong and vividly colorful words from a serious, well seasoned Military Attorney who just won’t roll over and allow the media to drag her reputation through the mud. She is chomping at the bit to get on with the real justice and that is the days in court. Be it the Supreme Court or before the Military Tribunal.

A civilian CAN be a mil lawyer. They have to follow the UCMJ.

I think FL Bailey was involved in the Calley defense, as an example.

Honestly...it’s not THAT big a deal. I bet there are all sorts of Military Qualified attorneys around every permanent base in the country.

Being registered as a Military Lawyer does not make you a Military Prosecutor. This just means she is just able to provide a defense to someone who is being prosecuted under the UMCJ.

The “state of war” is very different than the use of Military Force that we’ve used since Gulf War I. For example, a real state of war grants the executive almost unlimited power—power that will never be granted to a President again in our lifetimes.

A state of war is a diplomatic term that triggers actions between belligerent nations. It’s a real “thing” that can only be started by Congress and ended with a formal Treaty.

I am not trying to be a jerk. I understand what war means to soldiers on the ground. I am not being pedantic. But this article tosses terms around that are not accurate and people lap it up with a spoon.
