My next door neighbor is a private arms dealer with high-end customers and a direct pipeline to all sorts of manufacturers domestic and foreign, and even he tells me it’s dry when I ask to place an order for practically any defensive caliber.

The most bizarre aspect of this idea is that it will destroy our military’s supply line of weaponry. The same companies manufacture these arms.

I don’t agree with the assumption that all democrats will march in lockstep toward harsh gun control. Look at Virginia, for example. Last year the democrats took over both chambers of the legislature and the governorship. One of the governor’s loudly publicized goals was to outlaw AR15 style rifles and most semiautomatics. In the end only minor restrictions were passed and the gun-confescation measures died in committee. Even the most liberal democratic representatives realized that their career would suffer an early death if they voted for that. Talking about it is one thing, voting for it is something quite different.
