Sullivan isn’t so much talking about the militant woke vanguard, as about corporate leaders and affluent Whites who do anything to appease the woke crowd. It’s fear on the part of the corporate bigwigs, and boredom and restlessness for other affluent, suburban Americans. They want to be seen as “doing good,” and so they pick up the radicals’ slogans.
When you get older you start seeing this life as temporary and, if you are Christian, take very seriously Paul’s words: To live is Christ and to die is gain.
For non-christians the sunset years must be hell on earth.
The press, military, intelligence agebcies, law enforcement, congress, senate, executive branch departments, k through 12, religion (the Pope is a Marxist), social media, tech companies, entertainment (TV, music, movies), corporate leadership and board rooms, professional and college sports,

I believe that drives a lot of the suicides and drug abuse; so many people with nothing to live for and nothing to die for.
