Prayers for you and yours Martin. May God spare your family any suffering and protect you.
Prayers headed ya’alls way.
We hold you, your family, all of the families in the paths of these wildfires, all the first responders and all of the firefighters up in prayer.
Lord, we ask for mercy, we ask for protection, we ask for wisdom, and we ask for miracles. Father God, if it is Your Will, that this be opportunity to glorify Your Name.
We are all saying prayers for you guys. Its terrible that this is happening again. I have friends who just sold their home in NAPA and moved out of state, their home burned to the ground today.
Prayers up for you. We’re in no danger from the fires but the smoke and ash is ridiculous. If you’re anywhere near Sutter County and need to bug out, freepmail me. Our church housed a number of people from the Paradise fire a few years ago. I’m pretty sure they can make room for you.
You got it!
Prayers on the way.
Spent may a weekend in Santa Cruz Mtns
Stay safe!
Prayers sent
Prayers. Be safe.
Yikes
[At the first sign of it being close, don’t hesitate for a moment. Just go!]
Yes, because escape routes could be jammed by traffic or cut-off by the fires.
And you have the Canyon fires on your east side.
The fires in Sonoma and Mendocino Counties of 2017 and and 2018 were accompanied by vicious winds. Those winds not only dried out any flammables to bone-dryness; they preheated same. This year, not so much wind. From accounts I have heard from multiple people who were in those areas 2017/2018, the time in between a house “catching” an ember and the interior becoming absolutely fatal was under ten minutes. Fire crossing grasslands much faster than a person can run. Not even close. I had a bunch of goods stored in a barn that got cooked.
If you get the word, you had better leave. No discussion.
Speaking from scary experience - prepare early. Fuel up your vehicles now. Make lists of what to take with in case of “go tomorrow” or “go in the next hour” or even “go, now!” If things get worse, or closer, pack vehicles well in advance. Take pictures of everything for insurance, even stuff you’re taking with you, it may not make it out in a worst case scenario. Don’t forget hard drive backups, medical info, tax info, banking, deeds, etc. Then there’s the “usual” stuff, food, water, clothes, medicine, pet supplies, wedding albums, irreplaceable family heirlooms. Insurance policies, contact numbers, phone chargers... It is CA so I don’t know if weapons and ammo are an issue. (When we prepared the truck had more firepower than an up armored Hummer)... Good luck, you’re in our thoughts and prayers.
Santa Cruz Moose Lodge 1h UPDATE:: Please note there will be no "Thursday Burgers" tomorrow night (8/20) at the lodge. The Santa Cruz Moose is currently housing evacuees from the "CZU August Fire". We will be serving free spaghetti, from 5:00 pm until gone, donations will be greatly appreciated, but not necessary. The lodge is collecting donations of food and water for fire victims. Please watch for further updates. Prayers for our firefighters and first responders and especially to those affected and in the fires path!
If you need help please contact them ... tell them that I sent you ... I'm X-Noble Grand Humbug (Past chapter president) of the Santa Cruz Clampers ... my clamper handle is Ringer
I went thru a bad one up here 2 years ago to the day. The entire Mountain I live up on was in flames. It happened and spread FAST. (Downed power line plus 50-60 mph winds to move it along scary fast). My home barely survived. Trees and such were cut down around the home when it was built, (A suggestion by the fire chief, employing about a 100 ft. away from the house, 360 degree perimeter and that was where it stopped as it roared over head. Two 2 man fire trucks stayed up here all night, (RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF IT!!!!) hoses at the ready to spray down my wood decks and roof. I showed the guys where my single hydrant was located so they could use my hoses to keep their truck’s water tanks filled and topped off to continue the fight with a less worry of running out of water. Getting down the Mountain was another story. One average fallen tree across an exit road could be life or death. I carry in my truck a brand new smaller Husky chainsaw, fueled and oiled up, ready to go if I have to clear a fallen log. My advice to you would be get out now. They move FAST! Good luck!
Roger that! And get ready to boogie before routes for getting out start looking iffy. That’s when everyone else will be trying to get out at crazy speeds.
FATHER GOD,
We claim the Promises of PSALM 91 over martin_fierro’s property, as well as, Freepers, and Californians who are in harm’s way of the fire.
Psalm 91
1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him.
3 For he will rescue you from every trap
and protect you from deadly disease.
4 He will cover you with his feathers.
He will shelter you with his wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
5 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night,
nor the arrow that flies in the day.
6 Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
7 Though a thousand fall at your side,
though ten thousand are dying around you,
these evils will not touch you.
8 Just open your eyes,
and see how the wicked are punished.
9 If you make the Lord your refuge,
if you make the Most High your shelter,
10 no evil will conquer you;
no plague will come near your home.
11 For he will order his angels
to protect you wherever you go.
12 They will hold you up with their hands
so you wont even hurt your foot on a stone.
13 You will trample upon lions and cobras;
you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!
14 The Lord says, I will rescue those who love me.
I will protect those who trust in my name.
15 When they call on me, I will answer;
I will be with them in trouble.
I will rescue and honor them.
16 I will reward them with a long life
and give them my salvation.
May they draw close to You, LORD, and rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
In JESUS’ Name we pray. AMEN.
We were ordered to evacuate two years ago in August. You quickly learn what stuff is actually important and what isnt. We loaded up the vehicles With stuff we dcouldnt replace and had them pointed out from the garage and ready to roll. The flames got within about 300 feet of our home when the wind shifted and the firefighters were able to start a backfire.
We never evacuated but we were ready to. While the flames were headed down the hill towards our neighborhood, a bunch of us guys went into the field nearby and cleared some brush. It was close, but no homes were lost.
Good luck to you.
Prayers are up.
