There are never issues or concerns. There are **CRISES**. And the lives of CHILDREN are at stake.

The Post Office can make some cuts in operations (like Saturday delivery) and increase some rates. Trump wants the Post Office to stop subsidizing Amazon (and undermining UPS and FedEx).

If you read Snopes carefully, you see that Trump is basically correct, although maybe over-emphasizes:

” ... it’s one thing to point out that the partnership [between the Post Office and Amazon] could have been more mutually beneficial [meaning beneficial to the Post Office instead of hurting the Post Office] and quite another to allege that its deal with Amazon.com is the main cause of the USPS’s financial woes.”

I, being a mere Ph.D. economist, would have to think about what is the “main cause” of the USPS’s financial flows. O.K., here goes: email.

This is like saying gravity is the main cause of an airplane crashing. But, you can’t do anything about gravity. Instead, you have to design the plane to deal with the reality of gravity. Likewise the reality of digitalization. The post office has to deal with it.

The post office can complain all it wants about e-mail, but the fact is e-mail is not only here to stay, it’s just going to get bigger and bigger. The future of the post office is in packages, not in mail. So, the post office has to make a decent profit on packages.

Only the lying idiots at Snopes don’t see this, because they’re blinded by hatred of Trump and because Bezos is their boy./

By the way, that smarmy bastard used the occasion of Robert Trump’s passing to make an attack on him, in an obituary column. I don’t care how many billions of dollars a person has, a turd is still a turd.

She’s more worried about keeping herself in power than she is about Americans trying to make ends meet during this manufactured lockdown.

"I don’t see a crisis. Everyday I get mail and everyday I throw just about all of it in the trash."

Packages should have priority over the other crap.

"GET BACK TO WORK, YOU LAZY ASSES!!"

Funny thing. I never got a paycheck unless I actually, physically, showed up for work.

BEDMINSTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. - The Democratic-run House on Sunday demanded that leaders of the U.S. Postal Service testify at an emergency oversight hearing Aug. 24 on mail delays as concerns grow that the Trump White House is trying to undermine the agency during the coronavirus pandemic while states expand mail-in voting options for the November presidential election.

Actually, they're concerned that Trump is undermining of their undermining of the undermining of attempts to straighten out the United States Postal Service which has been undermined by political connections between upper level Postal officials who have undermined laws preventing them from bribing members of Congress who are undermining the public's confidence in voting for them.

Not worth convening the house for a month to help American Citizens, but better bring everyone back to make sure the election can be rigged and stolen for them.

These traitors have to go.

I just keep snickering at the idea that an act of Congress — from either side of the aisle — would “fix” the US postal system.

I just keep snickering at the idea of an act of Congress.

We had majorities with W’s first two years and Trump’s first two years. What did it get us?

The USPS is already “privatized”.... it’s no more part of fedgov than the Federal Reserve. Perhaps putting 1st class mail delivery to open bid is what’s needed?
