I talked my mom out of that hell hole 20 years ago. Prior to that she had been going to a pill pushing quack who could not seem to figure out her medical problem. Mom came to visit me in Fort Worth and could barely walk. Took her immediately to Harris hospital. Within six days they diognosed her problem, padgets disease, and referred her to the proper doc in NJ. She was completely ambulatory by her trip home and lived out a pain free life. One thing that stuck with me was a comment while she was in hospital: what a nice pleasant room and the staff is so nice to me. Guess it was better then hearing watch you want now. Ive been back to nj 4 times in 45 years to bury my last 4 blood relatives. Never again.
A portion of my Flood insurance. ( we live in Florida). Not enough to cover wind too.
Anyone out there that has NOT gotten the first one that fits the mold?
I never expected it at the outset until they called it a ‘stimulus’ and I definitely fall well within the eligibility but am sort of reluctant to do any ‘deep inquiring’ etc etc etc (If you know, you know <: <: <:)
One of my ‘problems’ being I have an ‘apostrophe’ in my name but do have direct deposit of SS etc...
We ordered some Amish built end tables and put half down. The $1,200 will cover the other half and some groceries.
Good move.
I don’t think it will happen. But if it does, wife does finances so I doubt I’ll ever see it, just like the last one...basically bills. Since my water bill is $140 a month, $110 of it in fees, which is just like; cell phone, electric, etc...fees, fees, fees, yes...pay bills.
Put it in the bank.
Same thing I did with the first one. Nothing for now. I would like to buy a condo in my neighborhood. There arent many, but based on sales I can afford one When a decent one comes up. My goal now is to get the monthly mortgage payments low enough that I can also afford a cleaner to come in once every week or so.
May I ask the general area where you live?
Mine in Florida are 2200 a year. Not bad but democrats would love to raise them to New Jersey level to help the children. Spit! I swear they move from the northeast and say the taxes need to be raised. Ugh!
If you’re in New Jersey, the winters in Idaho aren’t particularly bad. Just choose a spot at LOW elevation (but not so low as to be in a floodplain), especially near Lewiston, the warmest wintertime spot in the state.
We poured our entire $2400 into two local small businesses: a landscaper who updated our tiny (24x24) back yard, and an automotive interior guy who reupholstered the seats, sofa and dinette in our motor home. Excellent work by both, and they greatly appreciated our help in keeping their businesses going.
Lessee...rent, pizza, beer, groceries, and a new laptop...bank the rest.
If the Democrats succeed in raising your property taxes to New Jersey level, then I guarantee you that the higher taxes cannot “help the children.” Most children in Florida currently live in households, generally with one parent or some other relative; a few fortunate children still live with two loving, married parents. Extreme taxation will encumber the capacity of parents to provide for their children. For most families, that means a severely diminished lifestyle with fewer vacations, books, summer camps, and other childhood experiences. Many will move to less expensive, less taxed housing; some will diminish the food supply, expel their children prematurely from the household, or adopt a homeless lifestyle, quietly moving to such municipalities and rural areas where that is still legal. Others will kill off younger siblings.
And New Jersey schools, even according to liberal standards, are scarcely better than those in Florida.
Food. Buy food.
Lots of it.
Guns and ammo you should already have.

All of the new trucks and boats have already been sold. No more left on the shelf. Next up, Yeti coolers.
I hope I don’t throw out the next one, like I did with the last one. I thought it was a credit card application...
I may have to buy a new freezer.
Mine used her half to pay off her shopping credit cards. Then had a list of items "we" could spend my half on. What else is new? :)
“I hope to make a similar move as well. It’s either going to be to North Idaho or Tennessee. I just need to convince my wife that the North Idaho winters are not all that bad ( I may have to embellish a bit).”
I live just east of the Rockies and our winters are similar to the area of Idaho you mention.
There is very little humidity out west so a zero degree day in Idaho does not feel anywhere as cold as zero degrees in the midwest or eastern states.
I wear shorts most of the winter (all of the spring/summer).
Go to Idaho (Montana is nice as well) you will be very happy!
