Bodycams, dashcams - both should be mandatory nationwide. The vast majority of police shootings are justified, but let’s have the evidence. Protects the cops and protects the public.

Are there simple to use and low cost body cams for civilians like us?
That’s intense.
She did not wait for him to get inside 21 feet to her, wisely. And she is an excellent shot! Is that a Glock 17? Niiice
Yes, and dashcams too. Hang one from the rearview mirror arm and wear one like a button on a shirt.
Very professional behavior by the officer in question. That was an extremely dangerous situation filled with unknowns as a result of the perps actions.
Amazon nd eBay. Good high quality video with 4 hour use time
There is the problem with 9mm. If the officer was shooting .357 mag, 45acp, or .44 mag, one round. Many bystanders, much potential for colaterial fatalities.
Just watched it.
I remember fifty two years ago when the gun control hysteria hit the US after the murder of Bobby Kennedy.
Magazines and newspapers were screaming for gun control when
someone wrote in that more people in Mexico were killed by knives than by guns.
The magazine response was to say that the reason for knife murders was the culture of “Macho” and the US did not have that culture here.
Well, it is here now.
She can save me anytime.
Seriously, she was calm, focused and very professional the entire time.
She is a competition shooter and beautiful as well
What part of “Stop” and “Put down the weapon” did he not understand? Sometimes you gotta do what you’re told or face the consequences. I would think one of those times you’d want to obey would be when a police officer has a gun pointed at you.
Boxcutters brought down the twin towers...just sayin’

“...She did not wait for him to get inside 21 feet to her, wisely. And she is an excellent shot! Is that a Glock 17?...”
Looks like a 17 (longer barrel/slide than a 19), but wide-angle lens can be deceiving.
She gave more than enough warning, including to the stupid-azz bystanders that were almost in the line of fire. She told him to drop it and to stop at least three times...plenty of warning and he kept coming at her. He didn’t appear to be staggering as if drunk/drugs. Either plain, old-fashion stupid or suicide by cop.
And yes, knowing he was armed with a knife, she was very wise to keep him out of the 20’ zone. Even an old, has-been hippie can cover 20’ in less than 2-3 seconds...don’t ask me how I know.
I remember when the left was all about forcing police to wear body cams. It was intended to show that most cops were brutal thugs killing minorities for fun. The opposite was true. It was the perps that escalated the arrests inot shootings.
“...There is the problem with 9mm. If the officer was shooting .357 mag, 45acp, or .44 mag, one round. Many bystanders, much potential for collateral fatalities....”
There has been much debate over it for years in both LEO and firearm communities. The newer 9mm LE ammo was supposed to give it a little more leverage, but after reviewing a bunch of LE shootings, it apparently still has “issues” as you state. Many LE agencies use it because the higher calibers are tough for smaller officers, especially females, to master and shoot accurately, plus the added ammo expense.
You also make a very valid point with the bystanders. One has to remember that there’s a lawyer tied to every bullet ever fired. The less one needs to fire, the less collateral damage/lawyer potential there is. A .45 spitting out 230 grains of pure “love” is bad to the bone....no pun intended.
