It’s true: there’s no white privilege, per se, but there is class privilege. Would you rather have a cultured black man like Clarence Thomas or Ben Carson live next door to you, or some white trash meth head? Cops aren’t favorably disposed toward the white trash or black trash types, but they certainly tread with care if they encounter a dignified and well-groomed man of either race wearing a pink Brooks Brothers polo shirt, khakis, and expensive boat shoes.

The real divide is between people who work, who provide goods and services, and those who don’t.

For that reason, there's something fundamentally un-American to speak of "class" as if it's encoded in a person's DNA. It is simply offensive.

It's not something that's necessarily visible. If it exists, it's a sense that the rules are different for the 'elite.'
