But it seems we already have a permanent bureaucracy...that’s what needs to be dealt with

Bingo. End benefits for public employees; let them buy it out of pocket like the people do. If you make it easy to make it a career, they'll stay forever.

That would work, too so long as that separated second term is the last one.

Pretty sure DJT was elected in 2016 and “became” President in 2017. Unless it really was Obama who was President until 2018 and actually was the one to get the economy back on track like he said . . .

I was watching the rally and I heard what he said and how he said it. If anyone takes this seriously then they may as well give up thinking all together. Trump was obviously just having fun with it. It was not even just a short comment. Go back and listen to it.

And I suggest that everyone scratch this fake news site from their list of reputable sources.

The term limits needed most are for congressmen and senators! Two terms, then out to live under the laws you passed.

Shift power from the people you elect to the staff that serve the office.

Unelected bureaucrats must be denied "power" by shifting them about from agency to agency, so they can't get their fiefdoms set up and running. Any good administrator can effectively administrate any agency by referring to the files containing the rules and following them. For operations requiring specialized expertise, have consultants on retainer.

I think ONE TERM for Representatives and ONE TERM for Senators is what we should have. They start working on reelection the first day they take office and if there wasn’t another term looming, they’d have to work for a change.

Imagine that - two solid years of work for the House members and six solid years of work for the Senators..and boom - you’re out of here - back where you came from and NO LOBBYING!

For president - I’ll have to think on that for awhile!
