They dogged Rush Limbaugh for years.

Trying to leave New York State is like trying to leave the mob. Every time you think you’re out; they drag you back in.

Does anyone remember when Bill De Blasio said that Trump would not be welcomed back to NY when his presidency ended? On July 26, 2019 Real Clear Politics posted an article quoting the Mayor.

Yep. A friend of mine at work with a common name got nailed by California for another guy’s back taxes to the tune of about $1,200.00. He did live and work in CA for a short time when he was younger, but had long since moved away from CA by the year the taxes were for.

The tax lawyer he contacted advised him to just pay it, as the minimal accumulated legal fees to get CA to correct the error would be at least $2,000; and that’s if CA didn’t dig their heels in.

So he paid some other guys’ taxes. No, I’m not kidding.

Kalifornia tried that $hit with me 20 years ago. I told them to pound sand. They threatened to take me to court. I ignored them and never heard another word.

This is STILL the United States of America...You don’t have to get permission to move from state to state..

It’s an impeachable offense for the President to change state of residence to avoid payment of taxes.

Rush says he is still getting audits from New York 13 years after moving.

How is this not harassment, I don’t know.

It's harassment alright.

But I thought the legal cut off was 7 years.

They hate Trump, but they love his money.

He’s not leaving NYC to evade taxes, he’s leaving to avoid assh***s.

If Rush’s actually not a resident, from where do they gin up jurisdiction to audit him? Why can’t he just tell them “I’m not a resident of your state, I owe you no taxes, I’m not going to sit for an audit, and you can go stuff yourself!”?

If you won property in NY I think you have to prove that you are out of the state for more then 183 days.

I don’t know if that includes working in NY and not owning property there.

NY is vicious.

When we make our NYEXIT, we are leaving for good and selling our house. Nevertheless, we still expect to hear from the state. NY gave us a loot of grief when my m-i-l passed and they had been FL residents for 30 years at that point.

I think if I hadn’t lived there in three years ir more and didn’t own any property and they kept trying to audit me, I’d try to do a civil suit for harassment and civil rights violation hopefully pierce immunity of the individuals. They’re not immune if they know or should know they’re violating your rights. Best defense is a good offense.
