You are correct. I work for an electric utility on the east coast. We are going through major overhauls ourselves. Millions in brand new scada control systems alone. I work around the engineers and they have multi-year plans (a couple of those projects stretching out 15 years) to replace damn near all the transformers and poles. I heard a couple of the engineers talking last month, my company has some gear in the field that was deployed 80 years ago!
Doubt I’ll miss much.
Can’t imagine Florida having to turn off power every time the wind got above 20 mph.
