Stuff impacts our atmosphere all day. Yes, at some point we’ll be hit with a large asteroid. Hopefully we’ll see it coming and be able to steer it off course some how. Comets are the real worry. They travel in an orbit from behind the Sun. They can be on us in a matter of months.
