Give it a try and see for yourself, then. Only way to know for sure. If it’s not painful, I don’t see any harm in it.
Gee. I sincerely feel sorry for this person. America is not perfect but we are still far better than any country in present times and in all of human history.
Another point: it is clear that this person is brainwashed and needs to get out and mix with the other side. I realize that this might be an impossibility but it is desperately needed in this situation.
Sadly, what has flooded us with information, the information age, has isolated us into to factions who never talk to each other and only listen to like minded people and regurgitate the same propaganda and lies.
this guy is so full of Sh!t his eyes are brown. He has to be soft in the three remaining brain cells to believe what he thinks about President Trump. But he has to have rose glasses on to believe any of the bat sh!t crazy crap about The One.
Let’s just be honest, anonymous anthropologist. You don’t like Americans. What you say you ‘believed’ in was the system, thought up by the ‘white men you sound like you hate’, that is so respectful of individual liberties, and that has engendered so much charity and good will by our people, such that people from all over the world, including you, have been able to come here and be taken care of and provided opportunity - EVEN WHILE you continue to identify most with your country of origin, and EVEN WHILE you actually hate a great number of AMERICANS - particularly those who happened to be born white.
Now that those you hate and covertly want to displace and actually ‘punish’ are standing up for themselves and starting trying to protect their way of life, you ‘quit believing’ in America. It’s not a strong America you identify with, but a weak America that you can exploit.
I don’t think that it’s painful. I think it’s a natural fear of drowning.
It isn’t painful.
And as recently as 2009 ...
And according to memos released by the U.S. Department of Justice in April 2009, water boarding was among 10 torture techniques authorized for the interrogation of an al-Qaida operative. In a nutshell, water boarding makes a person feel like he or she is drowning.
“Im a lefty, liberal, secular, progressive anthropologist who teaches at a community college. I have long been concerned about the loss of my freedom of speech particularly with regard to anything that might be construed as political as a consequence of my employment. Therefore the blog began as an anonymous outlet for the passion of my political opinions. It threatens now to become something very different. Well see.”
Yep. It is. And since you don’t actually drown, I’m in favor of using it.
I know what it does. I don’t think you’re on very solid ground asserting it is a pain-free experience. I recall when the controversy first arose, many people who believed that it was not torture did step up to the plate to try it for themselves, and to a man they changed their mind after the experience.
My but what heaping helping of self righteous Leftwing claptrap ... I agree, they guy is scum.
It brings on many changes...
The author should get off the drugs.
And the worst part is
HE IS TEACHING YOUNG PEOPLE.
Thus supporting, albeit grudgingly, my theory that Universities are far more destructive than corporations, which PRODUCES THINGS AND CREATES JOBS.
Well if torture is what it takes to potentially save lives, then I’m all for it.
Afraid of Americans,,,
.
Testosterone melts Snowflakes!
I agree with your post but fear that someday what you imply/suggest will happen. Namely, the only compromise between the two sides (think Civil War) holding guns in their hands is “well, we will just give you guys the following states to run all by yourselves with a few caveats”. One that comes to mind is “NO Loans”. # 2 “No across the border or air waves proselytizing of your perversions”.
Some states that come to mind would be California, Oregon, New York, Massachusetts and so on.
I could go on but you get the picture.
Wake up! What you support is hurting your own cause and is attacking your belief in the 1st amendment.
It’s semantics, to me. We create
this category of things that won’t be allowed
in times of crisis, then put objects into
the category that should not be there.
As I said, we may be too compassionate to survive.
Our enemies won’t be reciprocating our kindness.
