If you like your mandate then you will be able to keep your mandate.
Sounds like kale eaters are joining the resistance.
Don’t like what the school serves? Then pack your own kids lunches like parents did for generations. These people make me sick.
I think if it gets to a certain point where over some high percentage of the kids are eligible for the free breakfast, the school just says to hell with it and serves breakfast to any kid who shows up.
Here is what I did at age 9. I got up, ate cereal, fixed a peanut butter sandwich and walked to damned school. I have two degrees from two two Universities where I worked my damned way through with JOBS!! You people make me SICK!!I WILL NOT PAY YOUR WAY.
” “I want my kids to be having healthy foods. I don’t agree with it,” Des Moines parent Jessica Styron said.”
Then you should ether not have had them so we don’t have to feed them, or feed them yourself with your money. Your choice! Anybody want to take bets on the “ethnicity” of Jessica Styron?
“Oh...theres time...theyre just lazy and not so great parents”
But there’s no money! What this is all about is more “free $hit!”
When Fed.gov decides what your children eat, and you complain about it - you are officially a pathetic sheep
Where in the hell is it written in The Constitution and The Bill Of Rights that We The People are on the hook for education?
Amen ‘’mom’’. “Courtney Starbuck’’? I’ll bet a fifty bucks ‘’Courtney’s ‘’mom and dad were hippies.
Give them MRR’s!
Give them MRR’s!
You freeloading sobs our taxes our not to feed your government tit sucking kids with, it is to teach them how to read and write.
When my kids were growing up some 25 years ago, I fought to keep them out of the Albuquerque school districts free school lunch program. I told them I made too much money to qualify. They told me everyone qualifies.
I am with you, there IS NO NEED for government elementary or secondary schooling. A Mother or Father who can read and is reasonably intelligent can teach them better anyway. Find like minded people in your neighborhood, have certain subjects taught by different parents. Get 10-20 parents together and do it the old fashioned way.
I think they managed to dig up a few Trump-hating malcontents who, if he walked on water, would complain that he didn’t swim instead.
I’ve talked with several “lunch ladies” over the last few years and every one, every single one, has talked about how much food is wasted because the kids don’t eat it. They don’t cook the food themselves any more, just warm it up and serve it. They don’t come up with the menus, either. Every one I’ve talked to has been clear that the kids don’t like the food (and most of them don’t care much for it, themselves).
People may think that, before Michelle Obama stuck her nose in, schools could serve just any old thing. That’s not true; they’ve always had guidelines about the amount of protein, how many vegetables, and etc they could serve. The difference is that “back in the day” they had a lot more leeway to serve foods kids liked and would eat, as long as they followed those guidelines.
My mother was a lunch lady for years. She started out as the cafeteria janitor and retired as manager.
Serving breakfast at school started way back in the ‘70’s. I’ve been told that in at least one school in my area, the food is taken to the classroom and served, because most of the kids will eat it. The school pushes that because the more students served, the more money they get.
I pack my kids lunch every day.. I like to throw a piece of candy in there most days, too.

How dare you expect parents to take care of their children! You racist, fascist, Nazi!
When I was a kid, the school meals were disgusting.
My Mom made meals out of whole foods and they were delicious.
The pizza, spaghetti, etc and Sloppy Joes weren’t just gross they were unhealthy and I wouldn’t eat them.
