Here’s more of how the current border crisis is largely due to inaction and mis-action by the Trump admin:
“But then, what can he do? Even walls will take years.......crisis is NOW!”
Close the borders to everything but commercial traffic. Add extra law enforcement to check vehicles.
Moving resources to the border would have not stopped one single illegal. As a Border Patrol agent there nothing that I can do to stop someone from crossing. I can only arrest them once they cross and now that we are doing a lot of catch and release and handing out NTAs my work seems very futile.
If there was a holding facility you could take them there. I believe that is the plan.
Kris Kobach’s plan will work. Look it up.
We could only hold them until a judge in Hawaii tells us to let them go.
Catch and hold is not something a judge will overrule.
I hope that you are correct, but I find it hard to believe. I thought that I read a few days ago that a judge ruled that we have to offer bail to people that we are holding.
I just dont believe that anything of substance will be done without Congress actually passing laws to fix the problem.
True. They’re the most tiresome people on the goddam planet.
I dont know why Trump is so soft on McConnell.
Because the one good thing Mitch is doing is rapidly confirming Trump’s judges.
You don’t know what will change or not! Different tactics may result in a better outcome. More anti-Trump rhetoric, which seems to dominate FR these days!
He’s not rapid. There are positions that haven’t been filled.
Uh......my view was stated today by no less than Rush himself:
“You know, folks, my impression of her was that she was loyal and that she was tough and that she was out there begging for support. “
