“I absolutely don’t believe that capping it at $10K hurts many people in Texas.”

It hurts some.

It hurts too many.

Likely most were Republicans.

CA lost a boatload of Republican seats last year. Overall it was more than 40.

I contend 10s of thousands of votes were rooted in vengeance.

And Democrat balloting harvesting, GOP retirements and a GOP Speaker throwing the election had nothing to do with GOP loses?

You’d be just fine with Obama as long as you got your deduction back. You live in the criminally overtaxed socialist utopia of California. So “Eat your peas” on losing this deduction. Or move.

I just don’t believe that capping it at $10K hurts many people in Texas. CA, CT, NJ. NY, etc. are getting what they voted for. I believe the theory behind capping SALT deduction is to force people who vote for high state taxes to pay them. Perhaps once the people in those states actually pay the taxes they voted for, they will work to lower them. SALT should have never been a deduction in the first place in my view. I like the idea of a flat federal tax that everybody pays with no deductions.

Don’t you vote against anyone who raises your taxes?

If not, why not?

Exactly. They could’ve done what Georgia did and taken action to protect the money coming back from the feds to their citizens. They had plenty of time to address this during 2018 and chose to do nothing and blame Trump & Republican instead.
