To go further, Kerensky tried to use parliamentary procedures and the rules of the constitution to keep Lenin under control, but he failed because his people followed the rules (because the rules were the reason Kerensky's regime was legitimate), while Lenin's people despised the rules, did not regard them as legitimate, and therefore had no problem using them when they produced the desired result and trashing them when they did not.

This is precisely the situation we are going to be in in a few months, if we are not in it already.
