Correct, it is a protestor who came with the old guy and who is also smiling at the performance.

The media and the left, along with a few misguided conservatives are accusing the kids of mocking the performance, or "smirking". But the expression of the Catholic high school kid and the protestor standing right next to the old guy are the same.

So if you are a leftist, probably Antifa guy, you can smile at the drumming and you are OK. If however you are a kid from Catholic school with a MAGA hat on then you can't, because then you are a racist, disrespectful, etc.
