I totally get what youre saying. Im not sticking up for the guy at all. My point is only that it would be neat to see how things would have turned out if we avoided the political route we took.

Ike and De Gaulle warned JFK about getting involved with our military in Viet Nam. He listened to the CIA, and he got us involved heavily. That may have cost him his life. JFK was trying to bail out his fellow Catholics.

Very true. But it was on this day in 1954, when Eisenhower committed US assistance to RVN that is considered the beginning of our efforts in Vietnam.
