Politically, I prefer Cruz to Trump, but Cruz is un-electable in a national election.
I voted for Trump in 2016, and I will vote to reelect Trump in 2020, but only because Trump is the most Conservative candidate who has a chance to win the election.
In 2012, I predicted that Cruz would have a very difficult time getting re-elected in Texas in 2018. I was hoping Trump would appoint Cruz to a federal judgeship, but I doubt we could find 50 Senators to vote for Cruz.
Since 2005, my Number One issue at Free Republic has been massive LEGAL immigration.
Trump has been better on the legal immigration issue than Hillary Clinton would have been, but not by much.
I also voted for Trump because he was the first Republican since Gingrich to fight back against the Left. However, Trump's effort against Mueller, the FBI, and DOJ has been truly pathetic.
Bottom Line...
Democracy is a simple math problem.
When Black, Hispanic, and Asian voters start to register and turn out at the same rate as Republicans, American Conservatives will be politically dead.
(One million LEGAL immigrants/year is too many, without vetting for skills, Wealth or English skills.)
Plus another million a year illegally is what they are fighting to maintain.
It’s all about the fundamental transformation of the country into North Mexico.
Free Republic is crawling with people who want to throw out the protections of the natural born citizen requirement just so their favorite can run.

The 2 things that are needed to save the patient called America—immigration(wall, deportation of millions of demoncrat voters) and draining of the swamp(100’s sent to the gallows, 1000’s in prison for life and the other 90 percent fired...Unions banned).
Not much is being done on those two fronts but I’m not blaming Trump. The repubikan party has shown it’s true colors in siding with the swamp. The GOP is corrupt to it’s core.
I agree 100% on blacks and hispanics, not sure on aisian. Anyway, the demographic shifts have whites being a minority soon, and when you consider 1/3+ of whites are liberals the shift has already happened.
Trump was our LAST HOPE but alas it looks to me like he's blowing it.

As late as 1996 (Clinton v. Dole), a majority of Asian voters still backed the GOP.
However, Bush Two got just over 40% in two elections, McCain got 35%, and Romney and Trump were both under 30%.
The main problem is massive immigration from India and China.
Asian Indians and Chinese vote close to 80% for the Democrat Party.
Filipinos used to be the most Conservative Asian group, but massive low skill immigration from the Philippines has reversed that.
EVERY Asian voter group is now majority Democrat.
