I keep forgetting things have changed. In my day, if you were in intelligence it’s because you deserved to be there. I never met anyone in that field who wasn’t sharp as a whip. It’s one reason they’d hang officer-like duties and responsibilities on us even as privates. I was slotted as an E-9 even though I was still an E-1 which the rule book says never happens.
