As for Occams Razor it actually has a lot more credence than you give it credit for. The principle that the simplest of two explanations is correct is used throughout science. Doctors use it to diagnose illness, detectives use it to solve crime, logicians use it to deduce logic.
Obviously things arent always as simple as they first appear to be and sometimes the more complicated explanation ends up being right. And just as obviously conspiracy buffs, Q believers and the like would totally dismiss Occam because it totally undercuts their world view. But as a general principle, occam was right, the simplest explanation is almost always correct as opposed to the alternative which requires assumptions, any one of which if untrue sinks the explanation.
So occams razor is somewhat more intellectual than those posters who merely use it to dismiss others ideas.

Assuming Task Force was truthful about her situation, the simplest explanation is that she was murdered.
Assuming that a claim is true is the first assumption.
The second thing is to recognize Confirmation Bias. That will also easily lead one astray.
That would be pretty evident in an autopsy.
And, of course that is essentially “rat poison.”

Truth is not the same as Confirmation Bias.
For example, if your mind already has a bias to believe that the young journalist was murdered even tho the evidence says it was a brain hemorrage, your bias will interpret all new evidence to support your theory, thereby confirming what you already believe.
As you can see truth has nothing to do with CB.
The best investigators are those that let the facts drive the theory instead of the other way around. Most screwed up police investigations are where the investigator tries to squeeze the facts to fit his theory.
