I think you're right. I don't see either team beating France. A few Germans could each throw a packet or two of firecrackers in close proximity to the French team, which would then immediately surrender, resulting in forfeiture of the Final match...

England was sure to win if - then when the Croats tied it in the second half, they collapsed like a pricked balloon.
They never recovered the initiative. So much for dreams of playing against France!
Now they’ll have to fight Belgium for third place.

And Gareth Bale was eligible to play for England but he turned them down for Wales.
They sure could have used him.
I think it’s dumb that the UK doesn’t field a team. They have a UK team for the Olympics, but not for soccer? That’s nuts. I know it’s tradition and all, but they might have more than one WC title as a combined team.
