WOW....what hell some are thrown into. Impossible to truly understand.
I’ve been reading the Red Sparrow books - now on 3rd book - which was written by a former CIA man so he knows a lot. (He obviously didn’t think much of Obama) The books describe some of the tactics used by Russians and the mentality.
We are so different for the most part.
I saw what a weighty argument for the intellectual is the most ordinary slap in the face.

I think what people -- most notably modern Russians (who have yet to properly reflect on and forge closure on this monumental and very recent time of their history) -- fail to comprehend, is that the Gulag system was not just a symptom of Stalinist society, but the foundation.
For the system to function, it required the ascent and participation of ALL people in every strata of society. Everyone contributed their part, however consciously or unconsciously. It was not just guards and prisoners. Mere survival required it.
Catastrophic rates of abortion were also heavily practiced in the Soviet Union a half century before ours...Russia and China have some obvious demographic consequences -- but even in our own American society, as activist Lila Rose points out:
We are all "wounded" by the practice even if we have not personally experienced one ourselves. We do not realize how so much of the chaos and breakdown of sexuality, relationships, and propensity for violence can trace their roots to the status abortion holds as a basis for modern culture to operate.

Absolutely agree. This is why the Second Amendment is essential and that going back to the intent of our founding of America needs to be re-established. Way to many have this admiration for the slave and tyranny "-isms" of the left. A part of our population is inexplicably indifferent. God bless Free Republic.

The books are fascinating - I’m totally involved and don’t want them to end.
Also the empty spaces left by the missing lives lost to abortion - missing potential friends, colleagues, relatives, children, including disabled children who were meant to bless our lives and our society...
