It's an utterly awesome thing for a human to claim that God has given him or her a message to speak. That person has implicitly claimed to be God's Prophet on Earth! No longer are that person's words so claimed merely the utterance of a mortal such as are all the rest of us. He or she is claiming that God has intervened--as an extremely unique lightning bolt--into our contemporary world to deliver His Message through one particular human. That is a supremely momentous thing!

Woe be to such man, however, if he speaks falsely about God having given that message, if God did not command it to be given!

Schumer's claim brings to mind the Bible text of Deuteronomy 18:21 "...[T]he prophet who speaks a word presumptuously in My name which I have not commanded him to speak, or which he speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.’"

Are he and Hillary trying to paper over their mocking of God all these years and get some evangelical votes for Dems?
