I did not condone “sick thrills”. I do not condone “sick thrills”. I am a dog owner and I agree with your characterization of them.

However, I do not want any government telling me what meat I can or cannot eat - cow, horse, dog, cat - anything.

Why are you not outraged by the death of cows? Your selective concern is - inconsistent.

I understand your adverse reaction to a government telling you what you can put in your body. That’s why I’m pro Legalization of certain drugs.

As far as I know, cows aren’t sadistically brutalized and tortured before being killed. I could be wrong though.

From what I’ve read and seen, the sadists take a sick pleasure in slowly abusing and torturing the dogs before killing them.

It is much more natural to use cows as food than dogs. Dogs are loyal and very intelligent companions.

My husband and I are in contact with people there as we want to adopt/ rescue a sapsal. They tell me dog eating began in 1980 and is not a long standing cultural thing at all.

I read recently that a study showed 75% of men in South Korea find it acceptable to beat their wives.

I saw dog offered as meat at a butcher shop in Uijongbu in 1978. Only time I ever saw that in two tours there and I got around quite a bit.

I knew all of this already. But thanks. I will continue to criticize them because it is medieval and extreme cruelty.

It's not about eating dogs, it is about the sadism they so obviously enjoy in the videos. Go spend some time on you tube.

A year before the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang, the biggest dog meat market in South Korea closed — until then, around 80,000 dogs were annually traded at Moran Market, in the city of Seongnam just south of Seoul.

Opened right back up again after the Olympics were over. Just saw pics and video of it on twitter a few days ago. Misleading...

Yet you can walk down any street in Seoul at 2:00 A.M. and be as safe as you are now. Compare that to New York City, San Francisco, Baltimore or Gary, Indiana. Seoul is bigger than all those cities combined.

Look, I get it. You hate Korea, Koreans and Korean society because they mistreat and butcher dogs. I’m sure there are thousands of Hindus who would love nothing more than to enter a Ruth’s Chris steakhouse with guns blazing. Me, I liked the Koreans I met while stationed there and found much to admire about them. Yes, a small slice of their population eats dog. We have much bigger logs in our society’s eyes for me to worry about that mote. Please find me the perfect country so I can relocate there.

Most Koreans today say it is much worse, and far bigger than a small slice of the population. It is important for you to deny how cruel and huge this industry is.

Have you been to the Republic of Georgia? It is a lovely, incredibly beautiful country with the kindest people and the most wonderful food.

If true, that is another despicable tradition.

Thank you for the info.

Very much true -

Almost 80% of South Korean men have abused girlfriend, study claims

"About 71% of those who admitted a history of dating abuse said they had controlled their girlfriend’s activities through restricting their interactions with friends or family members, reported The Korea Herald. Their controlling behaviour included calling to check who their partner was with, or stipulating how she dressed."

Children of Misfortune, Child Abuse in South Korea

It turns out it is not only dogs that they beat with metal pipes and laugh while doing so - they do it to their children as well.

Moral of the story, any society that treats dogs on a large scale as instruments of enjoyment for torture and so obviously enjoys their suffering, is not a healthy one in other ways either.

what they do to dogs

The whole thing just fascinates me. There is a video out on twitter of two aborted fetuses lying in a tray and some gloved hands pick them up from either side of the tray and bounce them around toward each other. The way children do with stuffed animals. Some giggling.

Is this simply evil, of course it is, but is that all it is? Can these people be helped? How does an entire culture become this evil and violent - And so overly focused on the size of their erections?
