Sometimes I think we should have left Africa to sort out their own problems among themselves......they might have been better off in the long run.

Corruption and tribal mentality are what keep Africa down....

To gain self sufficiency, one must aspire to that goal. A tradition of warlords seeking plunder, dominion, eradication to benefit their local group is not amenable to developing the natural resources. They would rather scheme than cooperate.

They prefer their traditions over adopting the outsider’s ways. Wealth until the 19th century was measured in herds of four hoofed herbivores.
Africa’s average population growth is close to twice greater than the average of all other regions upon the Earth. Where is Eugenics in evidence? Where is population control apparent outside of the extreme north or south of the continent?

Perhaps the Chinese interaction with Africa will prove beneficial and allow a route toward checking off all the items on that list???
One of the big computer guys is spending lots of money to introduce birth control to Africa, as is, I believe, the United Nations.

Sub-Saharan Africa is a mess today with a population of just over a billion (I think), and those fleeing it are creating a mess for the developed world. Imagine the same situation but with double or triple that population. Those are the facts on the ground.
