Oh, are you one of those people who claim they are overweight because of hormones? You do know we (in the healthcare field )have heard that story many times, and 99.9% of the time it is not hormones, it is overeating. That excuse is waaay overused.

Excuse me, but bullshit. I was never fat in my life, until recently. No thyroid, on levothyroxine, but just high enough to keep any wayward cancer cells “asleep”; sadly not high enough to increase metabolism to keep weight off. If they raise dose to keep weight off, then my osteoporosis will worsen and stress on heart would also increase. Damn good doc says he’d rather I be overweight than risk broken hips or heart attack. So, as I said, to your comment about “overeaters”; bullshit.

I began smoking at 18 and after 10 years, I was up to 2 packs a day. (a carton of ten packs back then was only $3)

During my 10 years of smoking, I tried quitting numerous times but to no avail.

But at 28, I quit cold turkey and had absolutely no urge to smoke again...and never have since that day. It’s all mental.....

If you are overweight due to metabolism you either have to eat less or exercise more. Your body does not gain weight on its own.
