Oh, Grace had talent, all right.
There was a time when her voice was clean and pure.
You had to be there...
67-75
She tried to slip some into something of Nixons.
67-75?
That was the most left wing revolutionary time.
Weather Underground actually broke Tim Leary out of jail and he hid out with Black Panthers in Africa.
I smoked box car loads of dope back in the day. Mushrooms, peyote, LSD, I did them all.
I don’t do it anymore, of course. Deliberately making oneself dumber than one already is a poor strategy for long term survival.
And I’m certainly no liberal.
L
Yeah, that’s about right.
Me too! My parents were big lefties, and I was raised in the San Francisco bay area, so need I say more? Thank God I had some common sense, and after just being apolitical for awhile, I saw what an idiot Carter was, how great Reagan was, and signed up to vote for Reagan’s second term.
She tried to OD Nixon with a megadose. She was in the White House but Richard Nixon was not there that day.
John Lenin Lennon wanted to megadose Nixon too.
And these freaks wonder why they were under FBI investigation.
Feh.
“I smoked weed and even did acid back in the day and certainly am not a liberal today.”
Same here, but I was far to the right even back then. As I’ve stated before on this website, I was in LA and San Fran in the very early 70’s and looked just about like any hippie on the street but I was very different than them.
When I say I looked like them I’m not talking about nehru shirts, bells and beads and that kinda shit...mostly shoulder length hair faded levi’s and western type shirts with boots. Sort of the Roger McGuinn look...you know what I mean...
I’m jealous.
Similar story. I was living in Canada when Carter was elected. My wife and I thought, “Okay. He seems like a nice guy.” Nothing political entered into it. When we moved back to the states and endured Carter’s ‘malaise’ we became Reagan fanatics and never looked back.
So—What’s Gracie doing to make life better for her fellow citizens in Houston?
I wasn’t living in Texas at the time,
but didn’t know there were cowboy hippies.
LOL
Both of those songs were Great Society songs. Someone To Love was written by Darby Slick.
She replaced the original chick singer in Jefferson Airplane who opted to raise a family instead.
It’s why none of the other JA songs sound like the big hits.

I agree!
Her voice did not last long (believe due to alcohol), and nobody’s looks last forever, but there was a time when she was beautiful and had an incredible voice.
In today’s culture it does not take any courage to make outrageous statements against a Republican President. These stories no longer shock me, they just bore me with the simple-mindedness of it all.
Grace Slick has earned her place in PROFILE IN MEDIOCRITY.
Nixon years and just prior?
See my post 47.
Warped. I see the drugs really fried her brain and thinking. I saw a clip from American Bandstand where she was asked to introduce the band members and she blanked out when doing so but finally got the names right.
