Here’s an idea, start it off with nothing and pretend to save some taxpayer money.
The school district I worked for began sending kids home with a bag of canned goods on Fridays several years ago. The kids told me they didn’t want the food, so the school tried to do it clandestinely. We were supposed to call the student out of the room so they could put it in their backpacks and their classmates wouldn’t know they’d been given it. The kids were very self conscious about it, and I thought it was actually kind of rude on the schools part. I thought they were sending the wrong message and were doubling down on instilling the entitlement mentality by doing that.
We can do without the Dept. of Agriculture.
“Free” and “No Cost”.
So who’s paying for it?
You are.
