"Mississippi Queen"
Just okay
"30 Days in the Hole"
Just too damn cool with the guitar and the drums rolling around. Always loved the way the producer included the guy's voice saying, "c'mon boys...oh yeah" just before the intro starts.
"Fortunate Son"
A workable intro, but the song is better. Reminds me of Satisfaction where the song was better than the intro. I think I'm in the minority about the intro to Satisfaction.

" FREEBIRD!!!"
Without a doubt in the top 3 rock intros if not the top. Still lean towards Gimme Shelter and I'm a Skynard fan from back in the 70's.

You're kidding, right? Day Tripper was a pop song.

“Oh Well”. The the original Fleetwood Mac. Every time I plug in I play it a couple of times.

Yes, beautiful melodic intro to the song. Definitely in the top 10.

Could play the whole song in my younger days....done forgot it all now. --
It would come back to you with just a little bit of work. I laid my guitar down for 20+ years. Lots came back, and I got much better after adopting a more patient and attentive practice method. I swear by Jamie Andreas "Principles of Correct Practice"

I like the exciting introduction to
Charleston Charlie by Bert Firman & His Carlton Hotel Dance Orchestra. Another version that I like is by
Marion Harris.

“Make Me Smile” - Chicago
To: spiderpig
Born to Wander - Rare Earth

""The House of the Rising Sun" - The Animals"
Abso-friggin-lutely! What an intro! Don't know if you ever noticed, but the verses and chorus were the same chords as the intro. Used to do that song in my first band. Think I just bumped one of my top 3 intros for that intro.

I agree...I need to set with a metronome and familiarize myself with chords i knew for about 2 weeks..scales and dexterity..It would come back. I have a tremendous amount of gear but it is just shelved right now...I work so much and can’t wait till the day i can just sit for hours and play....get my chops back and utilize the gear i have collected. My last amp i bought was a Boss Katana 2X12...it’s a hoot with the little time i have spent with it. Still got my Deluxe Reverb hooked up to a good overdrive pedal...simplicity.
