Then they are going through his office as we speak. You only fire someone while they are away to get unfettered access. This was planned.

William Bratton of the Homeland Security Advisory Council is a leading candidate and I don’t believe he has a law degree.

Comey addressing fbi employees when found out on tv screen he was fired

That is not only unconfirmed, but unlikely.

The official statement I heard was that the letter was hand delivered to Comey's office, as well as sent electronically.

Is Comey's Executive secretary that incompetent? FBI headquarters doesn't have secure phones to stay in touch with the director?

Maddow is harping about Sessions recusing himself from Hillary and the election amd now criticizes his direction as AG to the President recommending Comey’s removal.

The press needs to refocus on the Clintons having fired Sessions as Director of the FBI and the Friends of Bill list when Boorda and Colby both turned up dead under Clinton’s regime.

It appears Sessions may have been uniquely qualified to identify collusion between an FBI Director and the Clintons, and honest enough to tell the President when enough was enough.

Next question...Will Comey become a Friend of Bill?.. or just another wealthy acquaintance?

FWIW 2 different Sessions.

Jeff Sessions is AG having come u from AG in Alabama since 1994, and a Senator of Alabama, while the FBI Director fired by Clinton was William Sessions, the Director of the FBI during Ruby Ridge and the Waco Branch Davidian compound assault.

No offense to Clarke, but here is a job description of a Sheriff: transport prisoners from prison to court and back, from prison to prison and make sure breakfast is ready in prison at 7 am every day.

Here is the job description of the FBI Director: Recommends indictments (hence needing to be a lawyer), run actual investigations of many kinds (open and clandestine) which entails knowing and understanding the law and I could go on.

This is why Clarke will never even be considered for the position.

I think that's incorrect. The FBI director (and the FBI in general) categorically does not "recommend indictments". This is something they specifically are supposed to avoid doing, and it's why Comey was criticized initially back in June of 2016.

What the FBI is supposed to do is to conduct investigations and then submit their evidence and findings to the Justice Department, and it is that entity, via the use of prosecutors and grand juries, which decides whether to recommend and issue indictments.

This, recommending indictments (or recommending that they not be issued) is precisely what the FBI doesn't do, if I understand things correctly.

The FBI investigates, and the Justice Department indicts in order to bring criminals to justice...

Perhaps slightly less embarrassing than being seen being walked out of the building.

I don’t remember, so I looked it up. Wikipedia, indicates Freeh came in after Sessions and conducted an investigation into the Waco incident. I had based my timeline off the Wikipedia profiles of Sessions and Freeh. Wikipedia isn’t always correct, though.
