Folks nearby that are big time in the alpaca breeding, fiber production, etc.... use Great Pyrenees as guard dogs— they work very well. Alpacas and the dogs get along well in a pack fashion, and dogs keep the coyotes and coy-dogs away. All three animals having predator eye positions in front of the cranium— it’s predator pack vs. predator pack. And... humans have this also ... LOL.
Deformations in nature are probably not too rare, but nature has a way of rendering the gene pool of deformities short lived in all but a very few instances.
I’m a Injun, so I don’t know where I fit in. Injun on both
sides of family. I finally figgered out why I didn’t care
for the location of the school I attended as a teenager. It
was built on an Indian burial ground. Eerie.
Apparently extra digits are genetic aberrations for the most part, run in families & in areas but extra limbs result form incomplete twinning & would not be passed to offspring. One of the things I treasure about FR is the amount of research it inspires me to do.
