Wow. That simple sentence carries a great depth of meaning.
Some of that here, I suspect.
Swedes offer at 3 levels of car insurance....full, half, and comprehensive. Full or half would have covered ‘fire’, but you’d end up getting only the current value of the car. So if you bought it four years ago as used....it’s probably less than 2,000 Euro now. Note too...there is always the deductible as well. I doubt if any of the six owners got more than two thousand Euro on their burnt car.
OK.
I could actually see the Swedish gov’t pressuring the insurers to “be generous” in cases like these, though. Just wild speculation, of course.
