Trolls were calling me a Nazi, death threats rolled in and a joke photo that I posed for in a burka served as “proof” that I am an Islamophobe.

If indifference to atrocities is the worst and most evil position for a human being to take, because “It doesn’t affect me”, then there is no difference between Islam and Nazi’s.

One of the issues with our politics today is people get lumped basically under two labels: liberal or conservative, right or left.
Though it’s a good thing this person had his eyes opened up the the lefts intolerant ways and turned away fron them, it certainly doesn’t make him a conservative...

There’s a big difference in “friends” and folk that know you.
The left of today are just like the Nazis of the 1930s. Replace “conservative” with “Jew” in your sentence and the comparison is identical: “Oh good. She didn’t bring the Jew with her”...This is the gestapo left of today. Anybody who does not buy into the warped ideology is ostracized, threatened, bullied even physically attacked and I would not be surprised in the least if they start killing people next. Thank GOD Hillary Clinton lost, I have absolutely no doubt now that if she did, she would have been running a Nazi like state. Anyone who opposed “The Party” would have been “neutralized”.
Oh well Mr. Moore. You’re getting a taste of your own medicine now. The loathsome, evil, shallow-thinking ideologues that you thought were your friends are showing their true colors. The “tolerant left” which you proudly belonged to are the most hateful group of intolerant people on the planet. And don’t think you’re any more special than anyone else - they turn on conservative minorities who stray from the plantation too.

I’m glad he wrote this piece about the virulence of the backlash he experienced. But I’m a little surprised that he hadn’t cottoned to the depths of the bigotry before.
These people (some of whom I have met) follow a set book of talking points, and anything one says which could be construed as deviancy brands that person as a heretic. Heretics are to be avoided, in order to avoid possible contamination with heretical ideas.
One proves one’s allegiance to the group by trying to outdo the others in demonstrating hatred for “deviant” opinions and those who profess them.
My parents has gay friends...big deal...
