Yes.
Thx, amorphous. I did have a successful corneal transplant about 12 years ago in Seattle, where there’s an excellent eye bank. I joked with my ophthalmologist, “I’m praying for a teenage drive-by shooting.” Instead of being shocked, he and nurse said they were always doing that too. LOL Sadly(?) that didn’t happen and by law they only had to give me a cornea from a person younger than I ..which includes a lot of old people.
My not-teenaged cornea has deteriorated, looks blurry like I’m underwater. The vision beneath it is almost perfect and one of those huge half-basketball contact lenses brings it back. BUT, I had such trouble getting that lens in, I just gave up because of the dystrophy, light enough to see what I’m doing hurts like daggers in the eyes .got tired of running over to neighbor to get lens in and out. I was really hoping to replace the transplant with a new transplant, but doc wants me to try the contact basketball again. BECAUSE I’M SO OLD and transplant could take a year to settle in.
This is not a valid reason for me ..my bod is as lithe and slender as it was when I was a teenager, posture is absolutely perfect, don’t need a single med since I’ve been a health food pioneer since the 1960s when I started taking megadoses of supplements .don’t get me started, as my kids will attest. Ordered Astaxanthin, hope to give you a good report within a month or two. Thanks again for your help
You are welcome. Will be looking forward to your report. You may be a candidate for the stem cell procedure, especially if you still have one of your own corneas intact, as they harvest the stem cells from the edges of the cornea.
