It was very helpful for my mom, whose appetite had gone to nothing. It extended her life. The bottom line is, if we have medicinal, legal forms of heroin (morphine) in all 50 states, why not marijuana?

Why is Medical Marijuana Not Legal In Every State?

Because Zoloft, Paxil, Prozac, Xanax is more profitable?

“she ran out of the medical marijuana and went to a local pharmacy”

What am I missing here...even in medical mary jane states, you don’t pick it up at a pharmacy...so why would she even go there?

They also made CBD schedule I recently. Which does not get you high at all, is not addictive in any way and has shown evidence in trials worldwide that it actively kills cancer cells

Yet they can legally sell overpriced synthetic heroin to children. Subsidized by our tax dollars!

It’s not even veiled anymore. This is blatant corruption for pharma profits!

Because you can get Marinol, the drug that improves appetite, as a prescription without the “high” of marijuana.
Because we have good painkillers that don’t necessarily render someone unable to contribute to society.

I am well aware of the effective use of medical marijuana for glaucoma and for cancer, and in those instances I mostly approve. I am also aware that the overwhelming majority of “medical” marijuana prescriptions are written for nonsense. I imagine the restrictions on its availability are because of the large number of druggies who refer each other to the easy physician who writes that prescription to anyone who pays.

I don’t know the right answer on this question, but I see both sides. My instincts are toward less government (meaning no restrictions on that drug), but I see far more people who are hurt by drugs, including marijuana, than I see helped by them.

IMO, as someone who began using cannabis in early 2015 as medicine & experienced a huge improvement in my quality of life, cannabis should be legal to use as medicine in all 50 states if the states wish to make it so.

I hope President Trump will see to it that the DEA takes cannabis off the federal schedule list. Let states decide the issue.

The fact of the matter is that MJ does have legitimate medical uses, such as the one you described, and MJ can also be abused like many other drugs.

Whether or not a person uses a drug responsibly or becomes a drug addict by abusing a drug is a matter of individual choice.

Each of us is the ultimate guardian of our own body. We only get one. We should cherish it and use it wisely.

Cannabis can be used as medicine without rendering someone unable to contribute to society. I know 1st hand this is so.

Maybe the other states don’t have witch doctors prescribing herbal remedies.

Only MDs pushing industrial remedies.

Because there are oral medications with the active ingredient of marijuana that are just as effective.

Simple.

The short answer is that it is a matter subject to state, rather than federal laws. And each state has different laws on the subject.
