If the senate doesn’t like him, that’s a big plus for the Bolton nomination. He must be the right guy for the job.

“RE: We have within the Republican Party today, pro and anti-war factions.

Deal with it.

After I posted, I realized that I failed to give a strategy to reconcile the factions.

Then I remembered Reagan’s “Peace Through Strength” which it seems Trump also embraces.

Having an outsider like Tillerson makes a lot of sense - he’s a breath of fresh air from the typical diplomats/political hacks that traditionally get the job. He’ll look at things from a wholly different perspective - kind of the Trump of the State Department.

HOWEVER, you cannot just have someone with little or no experience in charge of a very substantive department employing thousands or more people, with responsibilities that have world-wide repercussions. You need him to have staff that can implement his (and his boss’) ideas. You need someone who knows the territory and the personnel, and can say “HE is the problem in our Mideast Desk” and “THEY are the problem on our Asia desk.” In short, you need (at least for a while) to do what Patton did in Germany - hire those ex-Nazis who know how to run the railroads, keep the water running, etc., so that there’s not a disaster. Like Bolton or not (and I do like him - he’s exceptionally sharp, and pro-US - unlike most of our diplomats), he’s the right guy for the job. Also keep in mind that he will do as he’s told - he won’t be making too many policy decisions, as those will be made by the 2 layers above him. His job will be to find the best way to implement those policies, period.

Oh, and the more that the pansies, pussies and assorted NWO lying jackasses in the Senate DON’T like someone, the more that I DO like them...just like Trump and the political/media whores. I’d pick Bolton JUST BECAUSE it would frighten/piss off those phuckers.

He (Bolton) has argued the U.S. should bomb Iran to stop its nuclear program, dismissed the idea of a Palestinian state and called the United Nations a “twilight zone.”

Whatsthematterwiththat? Sometimes, truth is a real kick in the azz.

‘...possibly one of the least diplomatic diplomats ever to serve in the U.S. government. He has argued the U.S. should bomb Iran to stop its nuclear program, dismissed the idea of a Palestinian state and called the United Nations a “twilight zone.”’

Well, most everything he says is 100% true. I guess “undiplomatic” means he isn’t willing to lie to our enemies just to make them feel better.

Sure, because, even if you don’t agree with everything he says, you can tell that there is no possible way he is trying to deceive you like most politicians. Nobody would take the positions or say the things that Bolton says if they were simply looking to get ahead in politics or put one over on the voters.

Yeah, wasn’t Voinovich part of the original “Gang of Eight” that started the modern trend of RINOs siding with the Dems in order to block the GOP in the Senate?

Haha! You might be on to something.

This is like when you give your kids a choice, “you can either clean your room, or I can just throw all your toys away, you pick”.

Looks to me like there are leaks to excuse not picking Bolton as State Deputy. Seems the Flynn/Jard Kushner/Chamber of Commerce wing of Team Trump is in full control of Trump admin foreign policy. They are never going to want someone like Bolton inside the wire because he disagrees with them fundamentally on policy.
