I have proposed in the past the idea of Constitutional amendment prohibiting pardons that do not meet an ‘arm’s length’ test. In other words, presidents should not have the power to pardon anybody who might be able to testify against him, or a close friend or acquaintance. I know it is too late to apply to Obama, but are there any legal minded wordsmith out there who could come up with proper wording for this?
I am all for it. I understand, however, the White House is refusing to honor any petitions and has not done so for a number of months. That shows exactly how much he cares.
Trump better not shillyshally while making up his recinding orders of privilege (”I pardoned myself so you can’t do anything, nany nany boo boo!”) in the first 10 days let alone the first 100.
I think that is not true. I just read someone did do that...I am sorry I don’t remember who that was.
