Sounds like there’s an interesting story there, if you’d care to share it.

Maybe I will write it up. It happened about 30 years ago.
Maybe could title it Louis L’Amour saved me in Panama, or some such.

Im not sure, but i think hes the one from whom I got the phrase, an armed society is a polite society.I would e very surprised if Robert Heinlein was NOT the originator of that quote.

No. But it is circulating on the internet.
Over 300,000 hits on Gun Watch for this story.
Not much compared to AP or the NYTs putting out a story.
To: PROCON
Good shooting, Citizen. Civilization thanks you.

"I own just about everything LAmour wrote." I do own everything he ever wrote....collected hardcover works with leather bindings and acid-free paper. Not long after he died, this collection was offered as a subscription item. It includes most, if not all, of his short stories, as well as full books, with commentary by his son. I have re-read them many times.
I wish he had lived long enough to finish "The Walking Drum".

Good girl! Must have had some good training for sure to draw, rack and fire...
I wish they would give more details on these.....
1. Caliber
2. Grain and type of ammunition, hollowpoint? bonded? etc..
3. Number of rounds fired, number of hits
4. Shot placement
5. I guess asking for pictures of the wound channel would be asking a bit much? :)
And especially in this case, did the scumbag die right away, lay there writhing in pain for a few minutes, run away and collapse?

He survived long enough to be taken to the hospital, where he died.
He had an infant child born a few weeks earlier.

"Thats the set I bought at that estate sale for a hundred bucks. :-)" Yup. But I consider it a bargain, even having paid full retail.... :^)

When I come out of a store or any building, my head is on a swivel. I don’t like being surprised and I don’t want someone trying to get in my personal space without me noticing it. I also walk down the middle of the parking lot. I also carry any purchases in my left hand and I don’t pull my keys out until I’m sure there isn’t any threat nearby. And I always carry with one in the chamber. To do otherwise is foolish. Add in the fact that I’m 6’ 2” and broad shouldered, I don’t look like a tempting target anyway.
